I've written before about Bubbler, a blogging and site-building platform with unique features. Bubbler has launched its out-of-beta version 1.0, and it seems to be emphasizing robust site-building features more than pure blogging. However, creating "notes" (which are essentially blog entries) is still supported. So is drag-and-drop audio, video, and photos. Bubbler pages contain embedded audio playback controls. File-sharing and in-site instant messaging position Bubbler as a business tool. That's the only arena that could possibly justify Bubbler's hosting prices—yikes. A thousand dollars a year for 4GB of storage? One of the most popular personal and small-biz Web hosts, Fatcow, charges $99/year for 1GB and a generous assortment of nuts and bolts. That means that Bubbler is valuing its platform software at about $600/year. BTW, one of the greatest pre-launch features called Reporter, which enabled line-by-line IM-style blogging, is no longer mentioned on the feature list.
