my yahoo has had a bookmarks module for years...and, with the save to my web integration, you can add tagged bookmarks from your friends...

2. i setup the google with a couple feeds that are the same as my yahoo, so i could compare.

i love that i can have my gmail email and my feeds on the same page (can't in myyahoo).

i love that i can move the little boxes all around (can't in myyahoo).

however, the feed reader doesn't update very often. all the feeds have old posts from yesterday.

also, delicious rss feeds don't work (they don't work great in myyahoo either, but they work).

3. Yes, Google has added rss. Unfortunately they've made it obscure and difficult to find where you can add your favorite rss feeds.

Also, I refuse to believe such a small number of people know about and use rss at this time.

A recent report this week from the Forrester group says only 2% use rss, on a poll of 68,000.

68K sounds like a big number, but heck, there are millions of bloggers out there, and tens of millions of people already familiar with rss that are not represented in this small poll.

I believe the most recent results of 12% mentioned on numerous prior polls this past month are more accurate, and even this percentage seems small.

There is no remotely accurate way anyone can determine the use of rss at this time. Perhaps one of the more popular forums on the net can run a poll on rss in the near future and get a more accurate number from "actual users", the folks who actually have blogs and syndicated urls.

That's my cent and a half's worth.
